Welcome to the MomTime Book Club!  I love to read.  Actually, that is probably an understatement.  I think it is more like an addiction.  You will never catch me without a book handy.  I’ve been known to pull a book out of my purse while waiting in a check out line or (don’t report me) out of the glove compartment of my minivan in the middle of a traffic jam.  If I have five free minutes then my nose is in a book. 

I was so thrilled to be asked by Covenant Group bookstores to start a Book Club. My plan is to choose a book, send an E-letter announcing the title, give you a couple of weeks to buy the book and read the first chapter.  Then we will begin the online message board “discussion.”

We will probably take 6-8 weeks to go through each book and break the chapters down accordingly.  Each week I will pose three discussion questions and then I will answer them the way I would if we were all sitting around my living room drinking coffee and eating some delicious dessert, preferably chocolate.  Next it is your turn to add your voice and reflections to the discussion by posting your response on the message board.  Feel free to comment on anybody else’s answers, as well.  I’m really hoping we can build a little bibliophilistic community (a bunch of book fanatics.)

The next book I’ve chosen is “Captivating” by John & Staci Eldredge.  I devoured this book over the summer and went so crazy with the highlighter you would think the book was printed on yellow paper with white margins.  Now it’s time to go back through it at a slower pace, allowing the Holy Spirit to massage it into my feminine soul with the help of a handful (or hundred) other feminine souls. 

So…run out and buy the book (preferable from a Covenant Group store if you have one near you.)  Read the introduction and the first chapter and join me right back here on Monday, February 4th (or anytime after that) for our first “meeting.”
